Sitting here at my sister's house waiting for my final pay check which should be ready for pick-up Friday. Yesterday I went down and bought a 128MB memory card for my cam. With this new card and the one I already have I now have enough space to take 1080 pictures. So yeah, be ready for lot's of pic's.

Gotta run my sister's boy wants the computer back.
That's it for now. Later.

Till We Meet Again

Every time I walk outside into this super cold air I'm reassured that my choice to go to Phoenix is a good one. It's been so cold here that the ice and snow we got about two weeks ago is still hanging around. It will be nice to get into some warmer weather for a change.

This will be my last post for a while as I will be losing my internet connection as of tomorrow. Until I get situated with a place of my own I will try and update whenever I can get my hands on a computer. I want to thank everybody for their good wishes and I'll see ya on the other end.
That's it for now. Later.

Looks like someone had an oops.

It's been sort of a bitter-sweet day today, as my last day at work came and went. I'm excited to finally be moving on but at the same time saddened at leaving this job behind. But hey, maybe what they say is true, that you've got to let go of things to be able to move on. I sure hope so.

So here are the preliminary plans as they stand right now. I'm going to be packing the car this weekend since I've got to be out of the house by Monday. And since the temp's are supposed to be in the teens at best the packing ought to be fun. After that I plan on staying with my brother in town here for a couple of days before going to Topeka to spend the rest of the week at my sisters and wait for my final pay check. I plan to hit the highway heading for Phoenix a week from this Saturday. I plan on a slow easy going trip with oh yes, plenty of pictures taken along the way. So there you have it, my plans as they stand right now.

This week is going by fast just as I thought it would, with tomorrow being my last day at work. My boss wasn't thrilled with the news that I am leaving, though he has known this time was coming, he really didn't want to see me go. And to tell you the truth I kind of hate leaving this job. Mainly because a good working relationship with everyone out there, and a boss that's easy to work for. But most importantly a boss who appreciates my work, and that's hard to come across all the time.

So the only things left in the house are what I'm going to take with me. All that's left to do now is a last little bit of cleaning, pack the car and I'll be on my way. Speaking of that cleaning I'm off to get some of that done now.
That's it for now. Later.

And the countdown begins!!

Had a busy weekend going through the rest of my things sorting them into the pitch or the keep piles. And since the keep pile has to fit into the car, the pitch pile ended up a hell of a lot bigger. The freezing drizzle we had most of the day made taking it out to the curb tonight fun, kind of like taking the trash out on ice skates. But I got it out, and without slipping and busting my ass.

Yep the countdown has begun and it's one week till I start on this little whatever it is I'm heading out on. Let's see we can call it an adventure or stepping out into the great unknown, whatever it is it's finally going to happen. Will keep you up to date as this week progresses.
That's it for now. Later.

Twas a dreary day here it was.

I was sitting here wondering what to post today when it dawned on me I don't think I've shared the latest news on the sale of the house. We have gotten a new offer and they want to close by the 17th of this month. So it looks like my plans for moving are a go again. And seeing how the 17th is a week from this Monday it's time for me to get busy doing the final packing, cleaning and then hitting the road. However now that the time is rapidly approaching I know I should be and am excited. But still I can't help but have some second thoughts and doubts about my upcoming adventure. But I guess that's normal and what I need to do to dispel these feelings is to jump in and get my feet wet. So I'm off to do some blog reading followed by some of that work I talked about earlier.
That's it for now. Later.

Sat down here to create a post but can't think of much to say. Hell, the words must be frozen within my brain. Even though the moisture has quit falling from the sky we've now turned into a deep freeze. I'll try again tomorrow.
That's it for now. Later.

As you can tell from the pic above it's turned out to be an interesting day. Yes, winter is upon us here again. And not in a good way, the white you see in the pic is not snow it's pure ice. Which explains why I am posting this in what seems like the middle of the afternoon. I did go to work today, but the ice started falling around noon and within five minutes the parking lot was like an ice skating rink. It was shortly after that we all decided it was time to bail and head for home before the roads became impassable. Right now I'm sitting here listening to the ice pelt off the house and watching it grow thicker on everything it touches. My only hope right now is that the power lines hold up. If they don't it could end up being a long cold dark boring night.
That's it for now. Later.

With the holidays winding down to just memories I hope everybody's New years celebration went well. Me I chose to just stay home and see the New Year in quietly. In fact earlier in the day, thanks to the warmer then normal temps here, I got out to do some walking. Who knows maybe I managed to walk off a pound or two of the holiday weight I'm sure I put on. So now comes the getting used to the new year time. For example, how many have had to scratch threw and re-date a check or any other document you had to date because like me you wrote 2004 instead of 2005. Now it's time to start getting ready for that dreaded Monday after a four day weekend.
That's it for now. Later.
